![]() I just want to install a clean Mountain Lion install on my new rMBP because I originally migrated from my older MBP and there's just too much junk on my new system, which has drastically worsened my start-up and shut down times and just makes the system not "feel as new", so I want to do a fresh install and only put the stuff I really need on this MBP. My existing Mountain Lion partition on the SSD is FileVault encrypted. Both times I made sure I had a GUID partition. Grey circle with a slash through it, spinning wheel, nothing else happens. Sometimes the thumb drive's read light is on, sometimes it isn't.Īfter reading this thread I re-did the USB thumb drive using Carbon Copy Cloner, but it's the same story. ![]() Every time I try to boot using the USB drive I get the grey circle with the slash through it and a spinning wheel and it just sits there doing nothing, even 15, 20 mins later. ![]() I made a bootable USB drive using Lion Disk Maker. I am facing the same problem as Macboy Pro.
